Your correct re #1, that is our ancestor, I'm curious though, where did you get this reference, I only got this detail about John Edward LEONARD/Limerick etc yesterday from his Death Notice that I found.
FYI, John Edward had a son Edwad John, Edward had a son Nicolaas Jacobus, my great grandfather, his son was Georg Frederik and his son my dad was Nicolaas Jacobus.
I'm now trying to get more information about John Edward, when he came over, which ship, what he did.
I got distant family members that indicated that he stayed in Herbertsdale area, and is actually buried there, although his Death Notice lists Riversdale as where he died,
I got John Edward Marrying Wilhelmina in George on 05 Nov 1820. The British residents just shows the John LEONARD being discharged, was at the Family History Center yesterday and made a copy of the page where he is referenced.
I see below you've written Major and minor, what does this imply?
